I just recently posted about accommodation options for those kind of in-between travelers who are staying in a place a little too long to make a hotel or hostel cost-efficient, but a little too short to justify renting an apartment. I mentioned a website that rents apartments by the night, which cuts down on costs because of the significant overhead required to run a hotel (think of all the stuff that a hotel has to pay for that you don’t necessarily need: laundry, room service, attached restaurants, etc.)
Well, it turns out that by the night apartment rentals are a kind of burgeoning industry, especially in London.
To find an accommodation in London that isn’t ridiculously expensive and still allows you to be in the center of everything, try central-london-apartments.com. This goes along with the post I wrote the other day, where I advised to always stay local as much as possible. This is one of those exclusively local websites that deals in London properties only. Canary Wharf apartments are always tough to find, being right in the middle of the financial district.
But if you want to live the dream for a few days in the heart of everything, rent an apartment for a few nights there. Mayfair apartments are just as cherished, although they are in a little less crazy area. But get an apartment for a few nights and feel like a local.
